Last year Dell acquired EMC. EMC was rebranded to “Dell EMC” and moved under the Dell Technologies umbrella. In the last couple of months we could see the websites, emailing lists and Twitter accounts change from EMC to Dell EMC, etc. So it was inevitable that the EMC Elect program was going to change as well. In the meantime Dell also had an influencer program called the Dell Tech Centre Rockstars. Going forward, these two programs will merge and, as of today, be known as the Dell EMC Elect!
I will be attending Dell World this October in Austin, Texas and will be trying to find out how the merger between these massive companies will impact the Dell and EMC storage product portfolios. Flying in under the EMC Elect program, we should be having a front row seat to all the exciting announcements!
I’m just about ready to start my 18 hour trip to Las Vegas for EMCWorld 2016. The first hop to Miami should be a relatively quiet one (if I can get some sleep); on the second I’ll start to prepare for the madness that will ensue next week. The agenda is packed with good events and new product launches…
Today on February the 1st, EMC announced the EMC Elect 2016. I’m happy to again be part of the EMC Elect, now for the 4th year in a row!
Each year the EMC Elect program selects a number of individuals from all over the world that have shared knowledge on or worthwhile news about EMC systems. It does not matter how you do this: either via EMC’s own community network ECN, on Twitter, via blogs, while speaking at events, or other media. As long as you share your knowledge with the rest of the world, you can get nominated. Yes, even if you have an occasional rant about that feature that your VNX still does not support (*cough* removing private RAID groups from a storage pool *cough*), as long as you keep it constructive; whining is too easy.
Good news (mostly for me, I’ll admit): I’ll be visiting EMC World 2015 again! Just like the last edition EMC World will once again be held in The Venetian in Las Vegas. I’m looking forward to meeting my fellow EMC Elect over there as well as absorbing some new knowledge in the various lectures and/or general sessions which will be held during those days. If you also want to go, I’ve got a discount code you can use… so read on!
Today EMC announced the names of the EMC Elect 2015. I’m thrilled to be able to say: I’m one of them! Three years in, the Elect program is EMC’s way of saying “thank you!” to her online advocates. We share our knowledge, either by blogging or tweeting or speaking at public events. In return EMC gives us (among others) early access to new, hot product information, an easy path to the various EMC business units, some swag, comfy beanbags to sit in at Tier 1 events like EMC World, etc. And of course bragging rights…
It is that time of year again: time to select the EMC Elect 2015! EMC Elect is a recognition program for the top EMC social media guru’s worldwide. Customers, EMC partners or employees, independent analysts: everyone can become a part of the EMC Elect 2015. To do so, you only need to be nominated (that’s phase 1) and survive the judging process (phase 2 performed by the EMC Elect judging panel). Interested?
“Check your email ;)”. That was the first Twitter DM I read one sleepy morning in June. It’ll suffice to say, a minute later I was wide awake: I was chosen to represent the EMC Elect at the EMC “Redefine Possible” MegaLaunch event in London (UK)! I knew about these launch events because my colleague Rob attended one last year in Milan. Excitement started building and a couple of hours later I figured out I wasn’t going alone…
EMC World 2014 is back in town, this time with the REDEFINE punchline. After some logistic challenges to get here the show is on the road; general sessions, break-out sessions, hands on labs (HOL). So what’s up with the REDEFINE punchline? What are we redefining in the IT / data infrastructure? And what are the EMC Elect doing at EMC World when not flooding your Twitter feed?
BANG! The members of EMC Elect 2014 are officially announced! This is the second year of the EMC Elect, a recognition program started in 2013 for those people sharing (technical) expertise and evangelizing about EMC products and solutions. Since it’s an annual program, being a member of EMC Elect 2013 does not guarantee membership of the EMC Elect 2014. Read on to learn a bit more about the nomination process, the assessing/judging of the nominees, who can call him/herself EMC Elect for 2014 and what’s on the agenda.
